Maha Shivratri being celebrated at Divya college of Education.

SHRI SHRI 1008 SABHAPATI GIRJA DUTT GIRI JI MAHARAJ OF JUNA AKHARA DELIVERED RELIGIOUS CERMONS ON THE EVE OF MAHA SHIVRATRI AT DIVYA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION JAMMU AND HAD SHOWERED BLESSINGS ON THE PARTICIPANTS

0  Siva! O Pasupati! O Thou the Lord of Parvati 1 Kindly rescue me, helpless as I am, from the trackless forest of this miserable world. O Siva! forgive all the sins that I have committed with hands or feet, with ears or eyes, with words or body, with mind or heart; forgive my sins, those past and those that are yet to come. Victory unto Siva, the ocean of compassion, the great God, the abode of Blessedness! In youth, venomous snakes of sound and sight, of taste and touch and smell fastened upon my vitals and slew my discrimination. Alas! My heart bereft of the thought of Siva, swelled with arrogance and pride. Therefore, I Siva! O Mahadeva! O Samhu! Forgive me, I pray, my transgression. Now in my old age, my senses have lost the power of proper judging and acting; my body is weak and senile from many afflictions, from sins and illness and bereavements; but even now my mind, instead of meditating on Siva, runs after vain desires and hollow discussions. Therefore, O Siva! O Mahadeva! O Sambhu forgive me I pray for my transgressions. Day by day, a man comes near to death, his youth wears away; the day that is gone never returns. Transient as the ripples on a stream is the Goddess of fortune, fickle as lightings in, life itselfl. O Siva! O giver of shelter, protect me, who have taken refuge at Thy feet. 1  bow down to sri Dakhinamurti in the form of Guru, to Him whose outwawrd manifestations, though based on the real appear as illusaory, ever changing objects, who grants to those who take refuge in Him through the Vedic pronouncement, "Tattvamasi ", the boon immediate Knowledge of Brahman, attaining which a man returns no more to the realm of birth and death.I bow down to

him who bestows on the sages direct Knowledge   of ultimate   truth.   I bow to the Teacher of three  worlds, the Lord himself, who   dispels   the misery of birth and death. Immeesed as I am in   the   limitless ocean of worldly existence,    I tremble  to  suffer Alas! I am lustful and   foolish   and greedy, and ever enchained by the fetters of evil. In Thee is my only heaven of refuge, in Thee my help and my strength, O Bhavani! ldo not make any gift nor do I practice meditation. I have not read scriptures nor chanted hymns or mantras, I know not how to worship and I posses no dispassion. In Thee is my only heaven of refuge, in Thee are my help and my strength, O Bhavani! May the Lord Siva, Who is all white, all pure, bestow on me the treasure of forgiveness of my transgressions. No father   have I, no mother, no cormade, no son, no daghter, no wife, and no grand child; no servant or master, no wisdom, no calling. I Thee is my only heaven of refuge: in Thee are my help and my strength. O Bhvani! The religious discourses and bhajan/havan/kirtan were arranged  by   Mr.   K.K.   Shastri   chairman   of Divya Educational Trust at lower Gadi Garh Jammu amd who also presented the vote of thanks to sabhapati Ji Juna Akhara & other devotees of Lord Siva.

He elaborated how the human body changes, while the human soul is timeless. Therefore, it is every man's duty to nurture one's soul with the support of religion, virtues and sanskars and try to synchronize these forces for a healthy living. The programme was coordinated by  K.K.   Shastri,   Chairman  Divya  College   of Education. The celebrations came to a benefiting close with the distribution of parshaad. That in which the striver finds enjoyment through practice of adoration, meditation and service to God etc., and whereby he reaches the end of sorrow- such a joy, though appearing as poison in the beginning , tastes like nectar in the end; hence that joy, born as it is of the placidity of mind brought about by meditation on God, has been deckared as Sattvika.
